For the perfect handshake

Command:

1) Approach receiver from the front
2) Make eye contact and smile
3) Leave an extended arms length between you and the receiver
4) Reach right hand forward
5) Grip receiver’s hand so that your thumb and index fingers intersect with
theirs
6) Squeeze firmly while maintaining eye contact and a smile
7) Shake hand in an up and down motion for approximately 3 seconds
(equivalent to three shakes)
8) Release hand and place to side

IMPORTANT!

If the receiver extends their left hand first - DO NOT PANIC. Calmly switch to your
left hand and continue commands.

It is important to maintain eye contact but remember to blink.

It is important to smile naturally so you do not look perverse.

For the Monta Ellis GD handshake

DISCLAIMER: This handshake is gang affiliated. Do it in public at your own discretion.

Command:

Part 1 -

1) Extend right hand as you would when giving a handshake
2) Clap receiver’s palm
3) Keep hands connected
4) Slide hand backwards on palm until you reach the receiver’s fingers
5) Lock fingers with the receiver as to form a fist
6) Tighten the fist lock

Part 2 –

1) From the fist lock, release ONLY the thumb and index finger
2) Both you and the receiver’s index fingers should be pointing out from the
crease of each other’s index and thumb – in the figure of a gun

Part 3 -

1) Keep your index finger and thumb in the same position (gun formation) and
only release your last three fingers (middle, ring and pinky)
2) As you release the three fingers and wrap them into your own palm
3) Hook your index finger with the receiver while keeping your thumb on the
top
4) Tighten grip

Part 4 -

1) From the hook, return back to the fist lock in Part 1 (view Part 1, steps 5 & 6)

Part 5 -

1) From the fist lock, repeat Part 2

Part 6 -

1) Drop hands
2) Release
3) Walk away


After coming across many different interesting handshakes, we couldn't help but want to teach the class some sort of gang affiliated gesture. Apart from that, we thought it was also important for the class to know how to do a perfect handshake for when the time comes.

So remember...
*Be conscious of your grip. Make sure you do not squeeze to hard as to say, “I am better and stronger than you are”. Make sure not to extend a limp hand as to say, “I am weak and beneath you”. What you want to be saying is, “You can trust me with your children.”
