This picture frame was a gift from my boyfriend's mother Laurie, who has greatly impacted my life by introducing me to new lifestyles and trying to have a more positive overall outlook on life. The frame has pressed flowers around the border which are artifacts that I would like to collect, and I hope to learn more techniques about. I altered the picture frame by removing the picture holder from behind. I then used the existing frame and created an opaque screen using many layers of tracing paper.
My goal was to create an imitation Bokeh picture. I did this by attaching about 6 or 7 led lights together with 2 butt connectors for the positive and negative ends, and then attached those connectors to wires that were part of a battery pack. I started with the led's all lined up, but they did not seem to illuminate how I had wanted. I then bunched them up so they were a lot closer and this fortunately achieved the Bokeh style.
I have a great passion for photography and for as long as I can remember, I seem to have always be drawn to taking pictures of the mundane, the every day and the unnoticed. I have only recently learned about the Bokeh style, but I find that there is some astonishing beauty in the blurriness of an image.
The different coloured led lights that move at various speeds are supposed to represent myself as being a human with many emotions. Being a cancer star sign, I tend to be an emotional person. I thought that the lights do a great job in representing varying emotions, and with the changing speeds, it represents how life is fast and ever-changing, sometimes too fast for me to even comprehend what is happening around myself.
Audio:
The audio that accompanies my picture frame is a silent ticking from an old clock motor. I chose this sound because it is really faint, and it representative of how I am a very quiet individual. I wanted to use the ticking to be a reminder to myself that life is short, and that we should live each and every day to its fullest.
