Audio/Object Portrait

For this project I create a character that represents both the 'happy' and 'sad' sides of my personality. I believe that everyone has several layers to their personality and cannot be described as only one of the other.

The character was made of paper mache and was painted with black and white acrylic paint. The audio on on the 'happy' side of the character was a composition of myself laughing (to a comedy number) and the 'sad' side was a composition and layers sounds that I make when I am frustrated. For the background audio I used two suitable segments from my favourite Disney movie, Beauty & the Beast. This helped with setting the of the mood. The audio was played on either side of the character by pressing the fuzzy belly.

I felt this strange character showed the crafty side of myself and also the 'odd' side of myself through the object. And the audio projects the two extreme feelings that I find within myself often.
